Northern (All Ireland) Budgerigar Society

The Northern Budgerigar Society was formed by John & Eileen of Emerald Budgerigars, to cater for the specific requirements of all budgerigar breeders living in the Northern part of the Island of Ireland, whilst also being open to ALL living on the Island of Ireland, and encouraging participation from ALL budgerigar breeders, no matter where you live.

However, in 2010, the society through it's membership, voted to change the name of the society to the Northern  (All Ireland) Budgerigar Society .    The reason being, to send the clear message to all budgerigar breeders, that this society is open to all, no matter where you live on the Island of Ireland.   This society is about Budgerigars ONLY.

The Northern (All Ireland) B.S. is an Affiliated Area Society to the Budgerigar Society of Ireland/Eire B.S..   The society therefore, abides by the rules of the B.S.of I./E.B.S..

The 2nd Northern (All Ireland) B.S. Club Show, will be held at the Budgerigar Society of Ireland/Eire B.S., National Open Annual Show on Saturday 18th September 2010, at the CARRICKDALE HOTEL & SPA, Ravensdale, Co. Louth, on the NEWRY / DUNDALK BORDER.   This event is the Premier Show of the Year, and N.A.I.B.S. trophies and rosettes, will be awarded to members from the Northern (All Ireland) B.S. trade stand.    The B.S.of I./E.B.S. have invited all N.A.I.B.S. members to attend the Show Banquet.   Full details and Show Schedules, can be obtained from Sean McLaughlin on 086 1953156.

PLEASE NOTE : THE EIRE B.S. HAS POSTPONED THEIR SHOW, WHICH IN TURN POSTPONES THE NORTHERN (ALL IRELAND) B.S. SHOW.

The objects of the society are :

• To promote the breeding, development & advancement of Budgerigars.
• To promote the interests of exhibitors & breeders.
• To assist the progress of scientific knowledge in the avicultural field.
• To reward work of outstanding merit with prizes & other marks of recognition.
• To interest the public generally in the objects & activities of the society.
• To assist & work in unison with other societies.

Northern (All Ireland) B.S. members are invited to join the Budgerigar Society of Ireland, in an organised trip to the 2010 B.S. Convention.   The same is being held at the Royal Clifton Hotel, Southport, England, on the 11th to the 13th of June, 2010.   More details will follow as soon as we receive them, and a visit to a 'big name' breeder is anticipated ! ....... a little bird has whispered in my ear ...... it's ALAN MARCHANT !!! - What a Fantastic Aviary Visit !!!
